We are passionate about fireworks! The artistry in the sky, the booms, the smiles on peoples faces. To us it’s not about carrying a bunch of cheap Fireworks with a huge markup. It’s about carrying the best fireworks from many many different companies at low prices. We pick the best fireworks from each company. We always are on the lookout for Fireworks that go higher, break open wider and do different effects in the sky at a great price.
We are not a big store but we carry the best of the best. We carry a lot of different multi-repeater cakes of all sizes that have many different effects and colors that no other store in our area has.
Our owner Bob Jarrett has over 30 years experience in the Fireworks Industry. From selling fireworks since 1987 and designing shows all over the Tri-state area to shooting and building large displays for Weddings, Celebrations and City firework shows.

Back in 1998 Nola & Kenny Brinkley started Big Kabooms Fireworks out of their garage. They always made customer service and low prices the hallmark of their business. In 2005 the business was so busy that they decided to build a retail fireworks store out in front of their home. A few years later Kenny and one of his customers and fellow pyro Bob Jarrett went to a PGI (Pyrotechnics Guild International) Convention in Appleton Wisconsin together for a week to check out all the new stuff and learn more about everything fireworks. They made it though the “Flood” and the “Free Smells”at Appleton and their friendship grew.
Bob started his love of fireworks as a kid. His parents would go to Tennessee every year to get fireworks for the family 4th of July Celebration. In 1988 he started working at a Fireworks store on Covert ave and was there for 12 years. After that he worked for 3 other local fireworks stores every Summer until he purchased his own fireworks store, Westside fireworks. In 2017 when the owner was ready to retire, Bob saw the opportunity and jumped at the chance to own his own fireworks store. Over the years he turned the 2 car garage into a retail Fireworks store and the business grew.
Fast forward to 2024 when Kenny was ready to retire, he didn’t want to just sell his business to just anyone. He wanted someone who knew the business, knew all about fireworks and would treat his customers with the same customer service and low prices like he did. Customer service was always #1 with Kenny. He knew Bob would be a great fit for his store. So in June of 2024 Bob Purchased the property and the rest is history.
